MAKABE DENSHO-KAN

This building is a multi-function cultural facility at Makabe-cho Preservation District for Groups of Historic Buildings (Sakuragawa City, Ibaraki Prefecture). Architect designed this building with new interpretation of the design motif of traditional buildings in this area. Black painted various width cedar boards are put on the wall with gap and square windows of various sizes are arranged randomly. For signage design, we use these architectural motifs and try to express the new era design in harmony with traditional townscape.
